My Song

Song?

                        Returning home from going out
I was confronted by a sight
A giant thing with tiny eyes
and teeth like dynamite

I slowly ran away from it
It caught me up real quick
I turned to face the ugly brute
The sight made me quite sick

I thought my days were over
My happy time’s all gone
but instead of biting off my head
it offered me a song

A song which I will sing for you
A song of dread and fear
A song that when you hear it
Could turn your bitter queer

Arrooga rooga rooga
Arrooga rooga roo
Arrooga rooga rooga
Arrooga rooga roo

The singing ended instantly
It stopped where it begun
The tiny thing with the giant eyes
was having so much fun

I asked the ghastly demon
Where he learnt that awful song
But much to my amazed surprise
He’d known it all along

I thought it sounded familiar
That enchanting little rhyme
And now I come to think of it
I had known it all the time

Now my troubles are all over
The beast of song is free
I will never forget the haunting sound
of his rambunctious melody.

Arrooga rooga rooga
Arrooga rooga roo
Arrooga rooga rooga
Arrooga, rooga, roo.
